LEGAL SERVICES DIVISION
The Division is responsible for providing legal advice and opinion to the Ministry. It specifically oversees compliance and enforcement of various legal obligations and regulations; facilitating litigations; reviewing regulatory legal framework and representing the Ministry in court hearings in any court of law. In addition, the Division is responsible for negotiating, drafting and reviewing contracts, service legal agreements, Memorandum of Understanding, leases and other legal documents to ensure compliance to legal requirements and the Ministry’s policies. It is also responsible for ensuring that legal risks are identified and appropriate measures are put in place.
Purpose
The purpose of the Division is “to provide legal services”
In order to achieve the above purpose, the Division performs the following functions:
- Draft legal documents for the Ministry;
- Review and enforce Ministry’s regulatory land egal framework;
- Draft and review Ministry’s contracts;
- Manage legal affairs of the Ministry.
